Grupo PIASA Achieves VIVE Claim Level: First Sugar Group in Mexico to Earn This Sustainability Recognition

Sep 14, 2026

Grupo PIASA has become the first company in Mexico’s sugar industry to achieve the VIVE Claim Level under the VIVE Programme, a milestone that reaffirms our commitment to sustainability and continuous improvement across our operations.

VIVE is a sustainability standard for the value chain of agricultural products and their derivatives. It assesses the environmental, social, and corporate governance performance of both agricultural and industrial operations based on rigorous traceability and good-practice criteria. Achieving Claim Level requires demonstrating, through evidence verified by an independent auditing body, that operations meet the standard’s requirements across the modules assessed.

This recognition covers the company-owned farmland and production facilities of our three sugar mills: Tres Valles, Adolfo López Mateos, and Plan de San Luis. The modules covering company-owned farms and facilities were successfully certified.

Becoming the first sugar group in Mexico to achieve this level is no coincidence. It is the result of months of rigorous work, discipline, and shared commitment from our area leaders and process owners across the three mills, whose efforts made it possible to meet each of the standard’s requirements.

This milestone comes with great pride and reinforces our determination to continue positioning Grupo PIASA as a benchmark for sustainability in Mexico’s sugar industry.
