Sustainability from the Ground Up
At PIASA Group, we have developed a comprehensive Sustainability Model that combines effective management practices with continuous improvement systems. This strategy not only ensures long-term profitability but also positively impacts our people, our economy, and our environment
Our Sustainability Model
We aim to set the standard for best practices in environmental performance and socioeconomic development within our region. Our model focuses on five key sustainability priorities:

Water Management
We recognize the value of proper water management and incorporate its vitality into our decision-making. As part of our environmental strategy, we focus on managing our water footprint through initiatives that promote efficient use of this critical natural resource. Additionally, we utilize 100% of our wastewater for agricultural irrigation to benefit crops and for a doubly positive impact of reducing captured water consumption and preventing the spread of harmful pollutants into our natural reservoirs
Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Reduction
Since 2018, we initiated the process to reduce consumption of fossil fuel by utilizing 100% of sugarcane bagasse as fuel to generate electricity for factory operations. This transition has led to a reduction of 20 million liters of fuel oil over the past five years
Circular Economy: Compost Production
To improve soil quality and plant nutrition, we utilize compost created from decomposed organic matter. Furthermore, more than 50% of the bagasse generated as a byproduct of sugar production is returned to the fields to renew sugarcane plantations, while the remaining portion is allocated to our compost production facilities

Our Occupational Safety and Health Management System is a key process certified under ISO 45001. We are committed to ensuring safe and healthy work environments. Since its implementation, we have achieved a 34% reduction in workplace accidents at our mills, positioning us among Mexico’s safest sugar producers
Integration Programs
We believe that success is rooted in the satisfaction and well-being of our employees and their families. To this end, we are dedicated to making PIASA Group an outstanding workplace, creating positive experiences for everyone through identity and integration activities and events under the banner We are PIASA. We cultivate a positive, respectful, and productive environment that encourages commitment, fosters a healthy work culture, and acknowledges the contributions of all team members
Our communities
As a core component of our Sustainability Model, we have established partnerships that enhance our value chain by collaborating with all levels of government, sugar organizations involved in the INTEGRA program, producers, and local communities
These alliances create social, environmental, and economic value, establishing PIASA Group as a trusted development partner and a key player in community initiatives.
